Port Agency

  • Accurate and detailed PDAs
  • Maintaining prompt communication with vessel, owners/charterers and terminal operators
  • Timely dispatch of cargo documents and FDAs upon completion of vessel port call
  • Daily update of vessel line-ups and port call requirements
  • Liaising with terminal operators for cargo availability/berthing prospect
  • Mobilizing/coordinating the movement of relevant port officials on board vessel for inward/outward clearance formalities
  • Processing of port call documents (lodgment of manifest with customs, NIMASA & NPA)
  • Serving a formal advice to relevant government agencies of expected vessel port call
  • Obtain bills from NIMASA & NPA /terminal operators and effect timely payment of port charges
  • General coordination and management of vessel port call (from ETA to ATD).

Charterers Nominated Agency (CNA)

CMS offers a full agency service, covering all cargo requirements and documentation, inward and outward clearance, ordering of pilot, tugs, stevedores and other services for and on behalf of the Charterer, with the disbursement account being sent to the appointing party.

Owners Nominated Agency (ONA)

CMS protecting agency services help owners and operators supervise the charterers’ agency function and monitor port call operations. Vessel owners and operators sometimes need to appoint their agent of choice to supervise the charterers’ agency function and monitor day to day port call operations of the vessel. CMS offers a scalable service to owners and operators ranging from provision of a simple independent report, to full involvement in ensuring smooth turnaround of port call which includes, but not limited to the following:

  • Checking proforma D/A submitted by the head agent (port agent) for correctness/compliance with applicable port tariffs
  • Receipt of owners’ funds and payment to head agents as pay master
  • Reporting the vessel daily/cargo operational status, as required
  • Checking of cargo documents (Statement of Facts – SOF, Time Sheets for correctness, notifying owner if not, and issuing letters of protest on behalf of the owners/operators, Signing Bills of Lading in the event of Early Departure Procedure (EDP) where necessary.
  • Processing/obtaining Ship Sanitary Exemption Certificate (SSEC).
